In the June newsletter, we were so excited and happy to share the great news regarding responses to our request for more volunteers for the Deed Restriction Committee as well as the many other opportunities to serve on Cypress Village POA ‘s committees.
I hope you are seeing Deed Restriction Committee members out and about in our neighborhood. Please take a moment to wave and say hello should you see us. The office staff are also a great resource for us should we wonder if our plans for changes to our home are in line with the deed restrictions, we are all happy to answer any questions and listen to concerns that may arise. If we don ‘t have an immediate answer, we will be happy to do the research and report back to you
The first committee meeting was held last week, and we would like to report on some of the items the members noted. The focus will be on those three items in upcoming inspections as well as the general areas in the documents:
Fireworks — With the fourth of July and the 250th celebration, please remember that fireworks are not allowed in the community. An additional concern this year would be the extremely dry conditions we are experiencing. Please make sure you visit the public displays this year and keep our community free of fireworks.
DR Section #18. FIREWORKS — No fireworks of any kind will be allowed anywhere within Cypress Village. Any Owner who allows fireworks to be discharged from his or her Lot shall be responsible for all damages which incurred from such activity. Any oner in violation of this provision may be subject to a $100.00fine in accordance with Section 21.1.
Trash Cans —All of our committee members noted trash cans are stored in front of the garage or home on several properties throughout the Village. We should move our garbage cans to the side of the home and screen them from view of the street, if possible. A simple four-foot L-shaped fence or bush is, perhaps, the simplest way to conceal the cans, or garage storage may be possible.
DR Section #10.1 Household Waste, Trash and Garbage Containers — Household wat, trash and garbage may be placed in and collected from closed containers sealed with secured or latched lids. Household wase, trash and garbage may be placed curbside for collection. Under no circumstance, may bagged or open waste, trash or garbage be place curbside as it must be placed in a closed container with lid secured. Containers may not be placed any earlier than six o ‘clock (6:00) p.m. the evening prior to the day of collection. Containers then mut be recovered from curbside and returned to their concealed storage location by six o ‘clock (6:00) p.m. on the same day of scheduled collection. Trash containers cannot be stored in the front of a house and should be stored in a concealed storage location. Property owners are responsible for any trash spillage/dispersal and are required to pick up dispersed trash by sunset of the day of the event.
Weeds and unmown grass – we are in such severe drought conditions, that we cannot be expected to have beautiful green lawns at this time, however, it seems that every zone in our community has homes where weeds have overtaken landscape beds and driveway cracks, in some instances, it looks as though lawns are not being mowed. Please refer to Section #13 of the DRs, but please look at your yard and make it as neat and presentable as possible.
One last item you may be interested in is that the Governing Documents Committee would like to hear of ideas for changes, clarification, or new items that need to be added to the deed restrictions for us all to vote on at the next Annual Members’ Meeting in March 2027.
