Dear CVPOA Members,
Thank you for your continued engagement and thoughtful concerns regarding the proposed improvements to the Links Golf property, which include townhomes, condominiums, a new clubhouse, and an executive course. Your commitment to preserving the integrity and vision of our community is sincerely appreciated.
As many of you are aware, CVPOA has reviewed the potential impact of these developments and has determined that it will not support the removal of Deed Restrictions that currently apply to the golf course. This decision reflects our ongoing dedication to maintaining the community’s character and honoring its foundational covenants.
We encourage members to participate in upcoming meetings of the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), where zoning changes necessary for the proposed development will be considered. Your voice matters, and attending these sessions is a valuable way to ensure your perspectives are heard by county officials.
A link to the BOCC calendar is provided below.

Here is a copy of my letter to the Board Commissioners, Citrus County.
Dear Commissioner,
Several years ago Links Golf assumed the ownership of Sugarmill Woods Country Club, Southern Woods Golf Club and the Oak Village Sports Complex. Since that time they have proven their inability to manage these facilities, to a point of loosing considerable membership. Baring the specifics of the current conditions at these properties (which would likely come out during an open forum with the commission), they are now proposing development of properties not zoned residential and in conflict with the “Greenbelt” concept of our community. Needless to say, the impact on Cypress Village’s infrastructure based on an increased populace and its need for additional parking, sewerage, traffic issues and such would be a burden to both current residents and the county. My fear of such a project (aside from that previously mentioned) is its implementation and how this will likely affect life in Cypress Village for years to come. My feeling is that a poll of current SMW residents would support my concerns and perhaps that is what is needed. In short, please deny any application for this application.
